HELADO DE CAFÉ / KAFFEE EISCREME

(Scroll down for the English version)

Zorra is back. Tireless as ever, with another blogger’s event: “Der Kaffee”. Although at this time I am on vacation somewhere near the sea, I had programmed this post and the following is my contribution to said event.
I just take the opportunity and continue to play with my recently acquired toy: “The ice cream maker” for my KitchenAid. I went looking for recipes in internet and visited “Mil Postres”, Tartasacher’s blog, which I highly recommend to all of you because it is not only a superb blog, but it also has some pretty damn good recipes. So I copied the recipe called “Coffee Ice Cream with Bailey’s” which I have the pleasure to share with all of you:
Ingredients: (for 6-8 persons)
8 egg yolks
250g of sugar
1 l of milk
35 gr of Maizena (or any other thickener)
¼ liquid milk cream
Instant coffee (according to taste)
1dl of Bailey’s (or any other liquor)

Preparation:
Beat the egg yolks with the sugar and the Maizena until the are kind of white. Heat up the milk and add the egg yolks mixture. Stir continuously. Once a thick cream is obtained, add the instant coffee (the amount will depend on how strong we would like the ice cream to be). Remove from heat. Let it cool. Add the milk cream and the liquor. Once its cooled off, keep in the refrigerator until cold. Then placed in the ice cream maker and follow manufacturer’s instructions. If you do not have an ice cream maker, place the mixture in an airtight container and keep in the freezer section of your refrigerator for at least 2 hours. Get it out and stir. Place it back in the freezer and leave it for one hour.

Serve it…

Enjoy it...
